Active materials

Product lineup Specification
Vitamin derivatives more Vitamin C, B6, E and A derivatives are much more stable and easier to formulate with than vitamins themselves.
Zinc-Glycine complex Skin lightener with unique mechanism; efficiently taken into epidermal cells; triggers metallothionein expression; decreases oxidative stress; inhibits melanogenesis.
Ceramide derivatives Dissolves easily in water to provide clear preparations containing ceramide; forms lamellar structure to keep ceramides stable when diluted with water.

Oily materials

Product lineup Specification
Polyol fatty acid esters Highly purified oil bases for cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications. They have relatively high polarity and are good solvents for poorly-soluble substances. They have low melting temperatures and are non-greasy.
Fatty acid esters A wide range of highly purified fatty acid esters obtained from carefully selected alcohols and fatty acids, each with unique textures and properties.
Fatty acid esters (GS series) more The NIKKOL GS series are ester oils made from botanical materials only and based on the concept of green and sustainable. Use them as emollient ingredients with a smooth texture for skin-care products and cleansing oils. Non-oily feel; emollient; 100% natural origin.
Polybasic acid esters High polar polybasic acid esters function as excellent solvents for active ingredients and pigment dispersants.
Vegetable oils Vegetable oils containing different fatty acids are available in a wide variety of viscosities and textures.
Hydrocarbon oils Olive Squalane is hydrocarbon oil with high affinity with the skin. Syncelane4 is a highly safe and stable emollient.
Alkyl glyceryl ethers and their fatty acid esters NIKKOL's alkyl glyceryl ethers are highly-refined synthetic compounds with high stability. They improve the texture of creams and ointments and the stability of emulsions.
Higher alcohols NIKKOL Stearyl Alcohol, Behenyl Alcohol 65, 80 are highly purified, almost odorless vegetable alcohols used in cosmetics and pharmaceutical products as emulsion stabilizers and thickeners.
Silicone oil NIKKOL Silblend-91 is a mixture of silicone oils, which can be used in various cosmetic products as texture improver.

Emulsifiers/solubilizers/dispersants

Product lineup Specification
Lecithin derivatives Lecithin derivatives are obtained through the hydrogenation/hydroxylation of natural soya lecithin and are then refined using special techniques. Very safe bio-surfactants with superior heat and oxidation stability compare to natural lecithin.
Propylene glycol fatty acid esters Very safe lipophilic surfactants. When used with monoglycerides, they prevent a decrease in surface activity by preventing the transformation of the crystal structure of monoglyceride from alpha to beta.
Glyceryl fatty acid esters Glyceryl fatty acid esters are very safe lipophilic surfactants used as emulsifiers in a wide variety of food products.
Polyglyceryl fatty acid esters Very safe emulsifiers approved for use as food additives. Superior oxidation and pH stability compared to nonionic polyoxyethylene surfactants, and superior heat stability compared to cane sugar, glycerin, sorbitan fatty esters, etc.
Highly hydrophilic polyglyceryl fatty acid esters They have a high solubilization force and substances which reduce low-condensation products are eliminated by our proprietary technology.
Polyoxyethylene glyceryl fatty acid esters Very safe surfactants with superior emulsifying and dispersing properties. They can be used for varied purposes in the cosmetic field.
Sorbitan fatty acid esters Very safe lipophilic surfactants approved for use as food additives. They form excellent O/W emulsions when combined with hydrophilic emulsifiers. They can also be used as emulsifiers, emulsion stabilizers, solvents for poorly-soluble substances and adsorption promoters.
Polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid esters Very safe surfactants with superb emulsifying, solubilizing, and dispersing abilities.
Polyoxyethylene sorbitol fatty acid esters Excellent emulsifiers with oligomeric forms suitable for both polar and non-polar oils. They form stable emulsions at low concentrations.
Polyoxyethylene lanolins/lanolin alcohols/beeswax derivatives Nonionic surfactants with hydrophilicity due to addition of ethylene oxide to natural lanolin or beeswax. They are used as emulsifiers, solubilizers, emolients, and hair superfatting agents.
Polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oils Very safe, non-irritating nonionic surfactants. Compared to other nonionic polyoxyethylene surfactants, they have considerably high molecular weights. They are prime solubilizers of oil-soluble substances in water.
Polyoxyethylene phytosterols Unique nonionic surfactants obtained through the addition of ethylene oxide to phytosterol, phytostanol and cholesterol. They have a wide range of applications in cosmetics as emulsifiers, solubilizers, and dispersants.
Polyoxyethylene alkyl ethers Nonionic surfactants with excellent acid-, alkali-, and heat-stability. They exhibit complete oil solubility to complete water solubility, depending on the length of the polyoxyethylene chain.
Polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene alkyl ethers Block nonionic surfactants obtained through the addition of propylene oxide to higher alcohols. They are superb emulsifying and solubilizing agents with low foaminess, and can be used for various oil materials of varying polarities.
Polyoxyethylene alkyl ether phosphates Anionic surfactants with excellent alkali and heat stability. Compared to other anionic surfactants, they have superior solubility in water and in organic solvents. They exhibit super emulsifying, solubilizing, dispersing, moisturizing, wetting, penetrating, cleansing, and gelling properties over a wide range of pH.
Polyethylene glycol fatty acid esters MY types are obtained by the addition of ethylene oxide to fatty acids. EG and CD types are obtained by the esterification of polyethylene glycol with fatty acids.

Foaming agents/Detergents

Product lineup Specification
N-Acylamino acid salts Amino acid type of anionic surfactants are mild to the skin and hair and have excellent biodegradability and good cleansing, penetrating, emulsifing, anti-static, and bacteriostasis effects. They exhibit superior foaming ability in acidic systems.
Alkyl ether carboxylates Anionic surfactants, like soap, are human- and enviromentally-friendly with a low irritation potential and biodegradability. They are superior to soap, however, in water solubility and hard water stability.
Alkyl phosphates/polyoxyetylene alkyl ether phosphates Anionic surfactants with excellent alkali- and acid- resistance. They produce as much foam as soap and provide a fresh, clean feeling.
N-Acyl taurates Very safe anionic surfactants with super foaming, cleansing, and wetting properties. Except for CMT-30T, they are all high purity grade products containing very small amounts of inorganic salts.
Alkyl sulfates Alkyl sulfates generally exhibit amazing cleansing ability for oily dirt. These are all highly purified and contain very low amounts of by-products such as unreacted alcohols, salts, decahydrated sodium surfate, etc.
Polyoxyethylene alkyl ether sulfates Polyoxyethylene alkyl ether sulfates are excellent foaming and cleansing agents. Compared to alkyl sulfates, they have greater water solubility at low temperatures and better foam stability in hard water.
Sulfonates Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate is in weak acids and has prime foaming ability and water stability. Sodium C14-16 olefin sulfonate has good biodegradability, superior acid resistance, and excellent foaming and cleansing properties.
Alkyl betaines Alkyl betaines have a very low irritation potential and excellent foaming and cleansing abilities. They are generally compatible with anionic, cationic, and nonionic surfactants. Foaming ability and solubility are not affected by pH, so they can be used over the entire pH range.
Imidazoline-based amphoteric  This has superior foaming and cleansing properties and very low irritation potential. It is compatible with anionic, cationic, and nonionic surfactants.

Conditioners
